Awesome, but tough to control

Fantastic 3-D graphics, without lag. However, I found the controls a bit cumbersome, and wasn't really sure how to play the game, overall. As it stands, I'm not sure how to kill the opponent, because I got him to 200% damage and nothing happened, though he killed me, doing less. I'll give it another shot and play closer attention to the (brief) instructions. Very great breakthrough of a game. Awesome work.

I was expecting better

For a hyped-up game with a team of several, I expected this game to be a little more elaborate, and well-scripted. Two serious bugs that should be fixed are the one where messages appear beneath the trees, and the one where the enemy dies, but the battle doesn't stop and you get trapped in limbo forever.
Don't get me wrong, it was a fine game. Certainly more bad than good, but perhaps you were too anxious to release it. Is the main character supposed to be Tom, an average NG User or some random person?

You going for King of Portal?

That's like 4 blue submissions in 3 days. You must be going for King of the Portal this month or something, ay? I bet Frank's Adventure 3 will come out this month or something too :P
Well, at any rate, these minigames are good fun, so I'm behind them whatever the reason of this sudden influx.

haha,

If that wasn't an advertisement for LSD, than I've never seen one. Flashing colors, changes in shape, perspective and size. lol, couldn't be more on-the-nose.
Anyways, fairly fun gameplay and stuff. I played this a few days, it's cool to see it turn up, here on Newgrounds. It seems to be doing well.

Very original

What a nutty and surreal idea. It's great to see something I've never seen before, and this most certainly fits the description. It was brief, but I'd sorta rather see something small and inventive than a lot more of what's typical and overplayed. Keep up the unique thinking. What was that tune? It seemed familiar, almost.

I gave it a ten, just because...

It's so damned addictive. I've been playing this the past few days on deviantart.com and wouldn't ya know, it shows up here on Newgrounds. Now I can finally give back with a pleasant review and a generous vote ;)
Well, the gameplay is great. Very original as you said. It's actually not the first platforming golf game I've seen, but most certainly the best. I've already got these levels worked out to a fine art. I'm skeptical that stabbi really got 7 under on his second try, as that's my best score out of about 20 plays through. But heh, anything can happen in this game.
There are actually a couple of glitches. That guy who mentioned the floating ball wasn't pulling your leg. I've only seen it happen in one place, but it happened several times. On the last hole, at the bottom right, I've seen it float over top of the gap that you shoot up through. Also, on that 4-par hole that's possible to get an albatross in (^_^) I've managed to get the ball stuck in one of those little mounds on the right end, such that it took a couple of full-force blows to get it out :(
Very cool game though. Amazingly addictive. I wish there were more web games on rockpool.com, because this one was loads of fun.

Good, but needs refining

It's definitely a good game, but, lol, I think that when you say that it was over a year in planning, that you'd had the idea before, and put it off for a year. A project of this simplicity couldn't really take a year to plan, much less 3 months to make. Don't get me wrong. It's fun, and addictive, but at the same time it's frustrating. The field of view is not really accurate, since you're probably only using basic hitTests. I would personally substitute that method for one that uses point hitTests. Think of the teacher as firing 'particles of vision'. It sounds nuts, but you'd just have to trust me.
Keep it up, man.

Just a few minor flaws

The graphics are great, with the obvious compromise being latency. I had to put it on low quality to get smooth movement, which is quite a rareity for me. Sound is above par, there was enough variety to keep me entertained, and the intro was great in itself. But I would really like to know how to beat that winged pink bastard. His guts are practically falling out of his chest before the shotgun seems to lose effect. Where do you go from there?

Totaljerkface responds:

ha... i'm sorry guys. shooting him in the stomach does nothing. i just put it in there cuz he had no armor on his stomach. i guess that is a bit misleading. you have to shoot him in the head when he's not holding his shield up.... which is while he's attacking.

Nice little minigame

lol, Rejected has to be the funniest animation I've ever seen in my life. It's almost remarkable that I haven't seen any sort of tribute to it yet on NG, but I guess there are still a lot of people who don't know about it.
The game mechanics are simple but effective. Music is suitable, I think. It would been great if, when you lost, his anus started bleeding profusely. Haha, having seen the animation, you'll know why, while those reading this review in absence of that experience will probably deem me sick or sadistic.

Silly Hats ONLY

Took me forever and a day to download

given NG's current bandwidth, but I'd say it wa worthwhile. The original art is very rewarding in itself. Plus, the game mechanics make it a lot of fun, too. I think the original Arrogancy series was before my time, but I'd heard about it, and expected this game to be a great one when it showed up on the portal. I hope that this gets daily feature.

arrogancy responds:

I see you're making a RPG, yourself. Working on this I know - it CAN be done, but it's a rather tremendous undertaking. The amount of art, writing, and music that is going into this is ridiculous - and there are tons of programming hassles.

Yeah, we're all gonna get a lot of things done tomorrow.
